Exploration Rush
The Exploration Rush is a collection of valuable planets to map, already sorted for ease of traveling, if you need a modest but quick influx of cash during your early game progression, or want to raise your Exploration rank (this whole list should be roughly a full Elite rank if you collect all the Earth-like in the listed systems).
This list consists of easily reached and valuable Earth-like planets : under 250 light-years from Sol, near the main star, with at least 2 Earth masses. The only factors for the price of the data for a body are its Nature, Terraformability and Mass - since we're only collecting Earth-like planets, mass is our only concern here.
What You Will Need
Detailed Surface Scanner (DSS) : Size 1 optional module, this is the only truly required item - you need the DSS to map the planets you'll be visiting. Most stations will have one, but if you want specifics you can use the Inara Outfitting search
Decent Jumprange : The higher your jumprange, the less jumps you will have to do between interesting systems.
SCO-capable FSD : While all planets are at most a minute away from the main star even without SCO, it will massively reduce your travel time.
Fuel Scoop : You'll be doing a lot of jumps, don't forget your scoop !
What to do
Travel to your target system
"Honk" in the system (the "Discovery scanner" is an integrated module on every ship, bind from your fire groups on your right panel)
Open your system map, locate the Earth-like and target it : it has a distinct visual, and its description will usually indicate that there is lifeforms and the world has been terraformed. (No need to use your FSS)
Travel to that Earth-like, and engage your DSS module (it can be bound from your fire groups on your right panels).
Each probe fired with your DSS will map a circle on the surface - you need to reach 90% coverage to fully map the planet and get the data. Careful : if you use more probes than the efficiency target of the body, you will still get the data but will lose a huge chunk of its value.
Jump to the next system - the list is sorted for ease of travel and meant to be done in order.
